In recent years, Julia Kotowski has been working as a creative freelancer for commercial clients in event and advertising contexts, coming to the conclusion that strong narrative concepts are needed not only in sequential art forms and moving images, but basically any kind of medial communication these days, from 360° video to inderior design.
During her broadly interdisciplinary studies at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), she meandered through various media and specialized in being a masterful Jack of all trades, but eventually found the biggest pleasure in the magic of breathing life into drawn lines: animation in its pure, original form. And while assuming that after graduation she would switch off the light table for good, she nowadays finds that in a world of motion designers, being able to animate frame by frame qualifies as a veritable USP.
In her sparse free time she studies the mechanics of motion physically through learning the art of filipino stick fighting, plays every instrument she finds, drinks a lot of coffee and releases comics about it.
